Habits Update:

Visited Habits last weekend with David’s dad for a grilled cheese, among other things.

Of course, with sweet potato fries

I really liked it. It had tomato and bacon inside, as well as cheddar and swiss cheese. ($6.95) I ate the whole thing and only shared a little with David.

David, clearly not learning from his experience last time, ordered the Jupiter burger— two patties with Worcestershire sauce, onions, mushrooms, swiss cheese, mozzarella cheese and tomato. ($11.95)

Unlike our last burgers at Habit's, this one was cooked to order and we can find no faults

Derek tried the pulled pork sandwich, ($6.95) which he said was an 8 out of 10, with a side of red beans and rice. He found them to have a little too much onion, but they had a spicy kick that I really liked.We still have not tried Habit’s potato rags, (hash browns covered with bacon, onions, tomatoes, cheddar, mozzarella provolone and ranch dressing)— which some people rave about, but I’m satisfied with the grilled cheese.

Habit's:

We’ve been scouting out Habits this week. I had a light lunch with my Mom on Saturday and dinner with David on Monday. David also went back for lunch on Wednesday. When I went with Mom, I tried the chicken fingers, ($4.95) which I thought were passable, and Mom got the Mediterranean salad with chicken.($8.95)

We also got the sweet potato fries, which weren’t as crisp as we would like, but were served with apple butter for dipping, a delicious combination I love and other than Habit's, I have only found at the Dilly Deli.

Habit’s has a Variety of beers in the bottle, and a few mainstream beers. They also have a rotating tap featuring Bell’s brews.

Habits is pretty large, but I imagine with the hard floors and ceilings it can get kind of noisy. It’s comfortable, filled with dark polished wood and a nice view of Oakley Square.

When we visited for dinner, we wanted to try the burgers. Seriously, where else can you get an Ostrich burger? Habit’s has a whole page, complete with burgers based on galaxy theme –white hot sun, bleu moon burger, etc.

David went with a Great American burger, ($7.50)and I got a mini “Pluto burger”($4.25) with cheddar cheese and the sweet potato fries on the side. They were a lot better this time around than last. I liked my mini burger.

David and I both ordered our burgers medium, but they came out a little overcooked. That’s our only complaint.

When David went back for lunch, he got the Jupiter burger, which he said was cooked to order this time, and was delicious. He ate the whole thing, which he later regretted as he tried to work through the Itis:

I like Habit's. I like their sweet potato fries and lots of burger options. They also have two tofu entrées for the vegetarians among us. I’d say their main issue is consistency. Our burgers were very well done instead of what we asked for--which makes me even resent them asking our preference in the first place. Also, my burger, if you look closely, looks suspiciously micro-waved. That said, the problems we had are not deal breakers in our book, and we're willing to give them another shot. They also have Galaga to play in the back, which lends them some points in my book.
